Alice R. Tangerini's "Tree Peony"

Writer's picture: Casa Italiana Casa Italiana

Our sincere thanks to Alice R. Tangerini, a career botanical illustrator for the Smithsonian, for donating the beautifully detailed painting “Tree Peony” to the CISC, Inc. Robert A. Facchina Italian American Museum of Washington, DC (IAMDC). The painting is done in a mixed media

of graphite and watercolor on layers of drafting film over marbled paper. She created the work this autumn expressly for IAMDC from her own photograph of the pink peony.

“Tree Peony” will be featured in the upcoming IAMDC gallery in an exhibition to promote local Italian and Italian American artists. We invite Italian American artists in the area to join the impressive list of artists who have already donated their works. For further information, please contact: CISC Board Member Liz DiGregorio at louiserayburn@yahoo.com (FI)
