Davide Prete 3D replica of the U.S. Capitol “Corncob” column

Writer's picture: Casa Italiana Casa Italiana

Our sincere thanks to architect and sculptor Davide Prete for donating his sculpture, Icarus, to the CISC, Inc. Robert A. Facchina Italian American Museum of Washington, DC (IAMDC). Davide, a native Italian, studied art and architecture in Venice, and teaches at GWU Corcoran of Art and at Catholic University. His work ranges from large public art projects in metal to two-dimensional prints. The IAMDC is fortunate to have two of his sculptures on display, thanks to his generosity: Icarus, which can be seen in the art gallery, and a unique 3D replica of the “Corncob” column top in the U.S. Capitol, which he created especially for the display case on the first floor of the museum. To learn more about his art, go to: www.davideprete.com.

Local Italian American artists are invited to join the impressive list of those who have already donated their works to the Italian American Museum of Washington DC galleries. For further information, please contact: IAMDC Director, Liz DiGregorio at louiserayburn@yahoo.com
